4. Staying away from suspicious things

١٨٨. عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُ قاَلَ: حَفِظْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

«دَعْ مَا يُرِيبُكَ إِلَى مَا لَا يُرِيبُكَ فَإِنَّ الصِّدْقَ طُمَأْنِينَةٌ وَإِنَّ الْكَذِبَ رِيبَةٌ».

  1. Hassan b. Ali (r.anhuma) says the following:

I memorized the following words from (my grandfather) the Messenger of Allah:

 “Stay away from the suspicious thins, be busy with the certain one. Because, honesty is a source of serenity whereas lying is a source of doubt.” (Tirmidhi, Qiyamah 60/2518. See Bukhari, Buyu, 3; Nasai, Qada, 11; Ahmad, I, 200)
