79.

٧٩. عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

«مَنْ مَلَكَ زَادًا وَرَاحِلَةً تُبَلِّغُهُ إِلَى بَيْتِ اللّٰهِ وَلَمْ يَحُجَّ فَلَا عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَمُوتَ يَهُودِيًّا أَوْ نَصْرَانِيًّا وَذٰلِكَ أَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَقُولُ فِي كِتَابِهِ (وَلِله عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ اِلَيْهِ سَب ِيلًا)».

79. Ali (r.a.) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:

“Whoever owns enough food for the journey and the mount for transportation to the House of Allah (Ka’bah) and does not go to Hajj, there is no difference whether he passes away as Jewish or Christian. That is because Allah the Almighty says in His Book:

“Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah, those who can afford the journey…” (Al-i-Imran; 3:97) (Tirmidhi, Hajj, 3/812)
